Our Missionaries

Meet some of the missionaries with whom we partner to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Paul and Melissa Ewing
NAB Missionaries, Japan

Paul serves as the NAB field director for the mission field of Japan and works closely with the Japan Baptist Conference. Pray for their upcoming year-long home assignment starting in July, especially that a couple would be willing to serve in their place. Pray as well for the general seminar on the topic of biblical interpretation, that this will help the lay leaders of the church, and other churches in that area, to grow in their walk and continue to lead well. Also pray for the many Bible studies that happen at the church, that hearts and minds would be open to the truth of the Gospel.

Dennis and Nancy Palmer
NAB Missionaries, Cameroon

Dennis is, among other things, the medical director of the Internal Medicine Residency Training Program, which he has been doing for nine years. The program trains young Cameroonian physicians, and the fourth class graduated this past July. It’s a great opportunity to help them increase their medical skills and grow spiritually. Pray for logistics behind the hydroelectric dam project at Mbingo Baptist Hospital, part of REACH: NAB on Mission Together capital campaign. Also, pray for a doctor who is considering relocating from Kenya to help out and assist Dennis at Mbingo next year.

Rick and Debbie Bardin
NAB Missionaries, Cameroon

Rick is a board-certified medical doctor in Internal Medicine and Pathology. Debbie serves as a staff nurse and recently started doing outreach clinics to remote villages visiting patients who cannot travel to refill their HIV meds. Pray for the Bardins’ continued relationships with their patients, that many more will come to know Jesus through the ministry of the hospital. Thank God for the recent addition of a transcriber/typist to the pathology department, which frees Rick to work on more cases.

Bud and Lois
NAB Missionaries, East Asia

Bud and Lois are not new to the NAB family. In 1983, they answered the call to go to Cameroon where Bud served as the youth director of the Cameroon Baptist Convention. Because of family health issues, they returned to North America where Bud served as a p*stor at NAB ch*rches and on staff in various roles. They currently live in Utah where two of their sons live. The Father has prompted them to finish their full-time ministry calling by once again serving internationally. Their goal is to touch lives in East Asia through teaching conversational English to students of other languages. Pr*y for Bud and Lois as they seek ministry opportunities in Utah while continuing to raise funds so they can get to the field to serve alongside Nick and Iris. Pr*y for the progress of their book on parenting, that it might open doors for offering seminars and a new perspective to an Asian culture. Pr*y for the challenges they face in learning a new language. [*marks are intentional to protect NAB workers in restricted nations].

Brad & Madelyn Fox
Send Internation Missionaries, Allakaket, Alaska

Our family has been focusing on church planting in bush Alaska. We have two daughters, Ruth and Naomi, who join us in reaching our village with the truth that Christ is worthy. The Lord brought us to the bush village of Allakaket in 2014. Our desire and passion is to see that Christ's Name is made great in our village--we are praying to someday have a group of people in our village come together and worship the Lord as He deserves.

Both of us have been raised in Montana. Maddie is from Laurel, Montana, while Brad grew up in Ekalaka.

Syd and Andrea Sparks
New Hope Uganda, Uganda

Syd and Andrea Sparks and their 4 children, Malachi, Eva, Heidi, and Levi, serve under New Hope Uganda at Musana Camps in the beautiful country of Uganda.  Syd grew up in Bowman and is the grandson of Ruth DuCharme and son of Donald and Judy Sparks.  During his college years at Dickinson State, he got connected with New Hope Uganda and made several short-term trips throughout the next few years.  He then met Andrea at a camping internship in Wisconsin.  The Lord put on their hearts to join NHU to start a Bible camp.  Musana Camps was founded in 2008, and since then has served over 4000 guests.  With each type of camp - youth, family, church retreats, quiet retreats, and ROPES (Rights Of Passage ExprienceS) camps - we pray that as we share from the Word of God, people will be transformed by His truth and grace.
